TaxProof exists because a tax return should be able to defend itself. We prepare returns the way they will one day be read — by someone checking.
Why TaxProof
Most accounting practices are organised around lodgment: collect the figures, prepare the return, lodge it, move on. That works until the ATO asks a question — and then the client discovers that the return was the easy part. The hard part is the evidence, and it was never assembled.
TaxProof was founded to reverse that order. We treat the evidence as the engagement and the return as its summary. Every figure we lodge is reconciled to source, every deduction is substantiated before it is claimed, and every position has its reasoning written down. The file exists on the day of lodgment, not the day of the review.
It is a slower way to prepare a tax return and a much faster way to answer for one. We think that is the right trade for anyone whose affairs matter enough to be questioned.

Joseph Masoud
Principal — Registered Tax Agent
Joseph Masoud has taught taxation and finance at the University of Sydney, Macquarie University, Holmes Institute and Kaplan Business School, and served as a finance unit coordinator at Western Sydney University.
Before founding TaxProof, he worked in industry as a Finance Manager and Financial Controller — preparing the numbers businesses ran on, not just the returns they lodged.
Joseph has taught tax to the people who now practise it — and applied it as a financial controller responsible for the numbers, not just the returns.
