Where we work
The centenary suburbs' returns, prepared to be checked.
Jindalee, Sinnamon Park, Westlake, Middle Park, Riverhills, Jamboree Heights, Seventeen Mile Rocks — we are based among them, and we prepare returns that can be shown, not just lodged.
The centenary suburbs are our own corner of Brisbane — the practice is based in Mount Ommaney, in the middle of them. The households here bring us the questions most Australian families eventually meet: two incomes and a mortgage, a first rental property, a small business run from a home office or a ute, study that might be claimable and might not.
Ordinary questions still have evidence attached. The rental deduction is only as good as the loan statement behind it; the home business only as clean as its ledger. We prepare returns so each answer is written down while it is easy to find — not reconstructed years later when a letter arrives.
Appointments run by phone or video at times that fit the school run or the commute, and documents move through a secure client portal. The same standard serves clients in every Australian state.
What we see from the centenary suburbs
- First rental properties with the loan redrawn for private spending and the interest never apportioned.
- Two-income households claiming the same deductions two different ways.
- Home-based businesses with no record of how the home percentage was set.
- Returns self-lodged in minutes that take years to unwind when a question comes.
What we do
Family tax returns
Both returns prepared together so offsets, deductions and family positions are consistent rather than contradictory.
First rental property
Interest apportionment, depreciation and expenses set up correctly in year one — the year every later year copies.
Home-based and small business
Business schedules and BAS from reconciled records, with the home-use basis documented.
Capital gains on property
Cost bases assembled from records, main residence questions answered in writing, workings retained.
Catch-up lodgments
Outstanding years confirmed, records rebuilt, returns lodged in order.
The first year a position is taken is the year that decides the next ten. We document centenary-suburbs returns so the position is right at the start — and provable ever after. See our method →
Common questions
Which suburbs do you cover?
The practice is based in Mount Ommaney and works naturally across the centenary district — Jindalee, Sinnamon Park, Westlake, Middle Park, Riverhills, Jamboree Heights and Seventeen Mile Rocks — though the engagement runs by phone and video, so the suburb never limits the service. Clients in every state work with us the same way.
We've just bought an investment property. What should we do first?
Send the loan documents, settlement statement and any depreciation report through the portal before a first appointment. How the loan and expenses are set up in year one determines how defensible every later year is.
Can you prepare returns for the whole household?
Yes, and it is the better way — deductions, offsets and shared positions stay consistent across the family instead of quietly contradicting each other.
I run a small business from home. What can I claim?
It depends on how the space and costs are actually used, and the claim is only as strong as the record of that use. We establish a documented basis first, then claim what it supports.
What does it cost?
It depends on the work — a wage return and a business with BAS are different engagements. We quote before we start, in writing, so the decision is yours before the meter is.
